New York, NY – October 6, 2015 – Float Left Interactive, an award-winning provider of TV Everywhere and Over-the-Top video app solutions, announced today that it has been named to the 2015 Streaming Media 100 – The Companies That Matter Most in Online Video. Streaming Media’s list includes “the most interesting, important, and influential companies in online video.” This year, only 15 new companies made the list, compared to last year’s list that featured 24 new entrants.
This is the fifth year that Streaming Media has compiled a list of the top 100 companies in online video, and each year the list reflects the evolution of this booming industry.
Streaming Media narrowed down the market of online video companies down to roughly 300 companies for expert panelists to vote on. From there, the companies are ranked from 1 to 5 by Streaming Media’s Editorial and Publishing team, and the top 100 are revealed. The list reflects a new maturity, and a sign of an industry coming into its own.
“Of all the companies delivering technologies and services in the streaming media industry, these are the 100 that our editorial team determined to be the most innovative, influential, and important,” says Streaming Media editor Eric Schumacher-Rasmussen. “They show an industry reaching maturity, as OTT has become mainstream in the home and video is far and away the preferred method of messaging in the corporate, government, and education sectors. The companies on this list are the ones fundamentally responsible for enabling this seismic shift in entertainment and the enterprise.”
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged by thought leaders like the Streaming Media Magazine panel,” commented Tom Schaeffer, Float Left Interactive CEO. “To be included among leading providers and influencers in our industry is a testament to our accomplishments and aligns with our vision of driving the development of cross-platform video experiences.”
Float Left Interactive will be speaking next month at Streaming Media West in Los Angeles.
